Interior

The Thar Roxx SUV comes with two cabin themes: black-white and black-brown, the latter being available only on 4×4 models. The interior is a mix of vintage touches such as the thin dashboard, passenger grab handle, and circular AC vents with contemporary touches such as screens, leatherette padding, and toggle switches. A distinctive nameplate on the co-driver’s side with the chassis number of the vehicle provides a touch of bespokenness.

The 2025 Thar Roxx is designed to comfortably seat drivers with average build and height, as well as headroom for tall drivers who exceed 6ft in height. Yet bigger drivers will discover less width to their seats. Easy access is less than some other SUVs, but still sufficient, with room to stretch for knee and headroom space for up to a 6-foot-tall driver, with supportive seats.

Storage is available in the form of door pockets, cup holders, glovebox, and storage space beneath the front armrest. The rear-wheel drive models also feature a storage tray alongside the gear lever. The 2025 Thar Roxx features a 10.25-inch touchscreen with decent resolution and fast responses, but lacks even Android Auto (wired and wireless) and Apple CarPlay. It also comes with a 10-inch digital driver’s display with various display modes, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, front seat vents, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad for phones, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

Safety

The Mahindra Thar Roxx has been awarded a 5-star crash safety rating by Bharat NCAP for both adult and child occupants. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold and descent control, and rear parking sensors. Higher variants come with a 360-degree camera and front parking sensors. The vehicle also comes with Level 2 ADAS features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking. However, the ADAS package may feel overreactive on busy highways.

Boot Space

The 2025 Thar Roxx offers a spacious 447-litre boot space, accommodating a variety of suitcases and soft bags. The rear seats feature a 60:40 split for additional storage, but rear seat recline may be restricted when the boot is loaded.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx 2025 is available in 6 variants: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L.

Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1 2025

• This receives safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold assist, rear parking sensors and so forth. It also receives 4 power windows, push button start, touchscreen and 4-speakers.
• This version is the starter and can be looked at by those with a tight budget.

Mahindra Thar Roxx MX3 2025

• The MX3 model has a rear view camera, auto-dimming IRVM, electrically adjustable mirrors, and an HD touchscreen, to name a few.
• It’s the first of the variants made available with an automatic transmission, whether you’re getting a petrol Thar Roxx ora  diesel.

Mahindra Thar Roxx MX5

• Apart from the diesel 4×4 automatic, all engine and transmission variants of the Thar Roxx 2025 come in this version.
• In this version, the SUV becomes premium with LED DRLs, LED projector fog lamps, a single-pane sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, and leatherette interior.

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX3L

• It brings some premium/good to have features to the MX5 variant buyers to prompt them to upgrade.
• A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, auto AC, auto headlamps, auto wipers, and ADAS technologies like auto braking, lane keep assist, and high-beam assist find their way in here.
• This trim is only offered with a diesel manual.

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX5L

• The 2025 Thar Roxx AX5L comes only with the diesel automatic powertrain, whether you opt for rear-wheel drive or 4×4.
• Whereas the MX5 and AX3L versions boast some features the other lacks, the AXL has the best of both.

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L

• The loaded-up Thar Roxx is large on luxury and technology features such as a 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon music system, powered driver seat, front ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
• This version will leave you with very little to ask for since the features package is generous.
• Apart from the petrol manual, this version comes with all the engines and gearboxes available with the 2025 Thar Roxx.

Vaahanwala suggests you:

• Those who desire a feature-packed Thar Roxx should opt for the top-of-the-line AX7L. It is the priciest but still offers tremendous value.
• While the MX1 variant receives all the essentials, I find myself liking the auto Thar Roxx (across all versions) better than the manual and would recommend opting for the upgrade to the MX3 automatic if your wallet permits.
